Sloe barrel gin

We are proud to present our limited-edition cask aged sloe gin.
Dating back to the 17th century, sloe gin represents the original, 'flavoured gin'. As sloe plants were erected to help divide land, the otherwise unusable sloe berry found its way into gin. This edition of sloe gin is our original Sloe Boat Gin that has been aged in a barrel. Cask ageing in Ireland is better known when talking about whiskey, but in other parts of the world such as France it is common for fruity and botanical elixirs to spend time in a barrel. These barrels being used are former Pedro Ximenèz sherry barrels and the sloe gin has sat in there for 11 months and 1 day.
To be called a sloe gin, a touch of sweetness must be added. For this expression our team have made an elderberry syrup for that final marriage of sweet notes.
The amount that has been produced is only 837 bottles and this a distillery exclusive item, available online and at our Fermanagh distillery shop.
