From Joe McGirr’s background of living in Scotland and visiting multiple distilleries whilst there, he developed an understanding that every distillery needs a character. Stanley Vaughan represents this for Boatyard, by being the face of the distillery, hosting distillery tours and events. We say the face of Boatyard, but in fact it could be argued he is the face of Fermanagh.
Very much a Fermanagh man, Stanley was brought up in Ballinamallard, just north of Enniskillen.
Prior to working within food and drink, Stanley pursued a career in retail working at S.D. Kells. Always a natural with people he decided to combine this skill with his love of food, leading to working at two very prestigious local venues in the Lough Erne Hotel and MacNeans in Blacklion.
Outside of work life, well Stanley brings his passion home, by being greatly interested in cooking and has even been known to make his own wine. When cooking he is very passionate about using local ingredients.
Whilst of course we supply gin on tap to Stanley’s home, he is very fond of both Sherry and Islay Whisky. Not only is he the face of Fermanagh but also quite the debonair gentleman.
